#BMHW23 "Birthing Justice" Docu Screening & Doula Panel

Black Maternal Health Week (BMHW) is a week of awareness, activism, and community-building aimed at amplifying the voices of Black Mamas, and centering the values and traditions of the reproductive and birth justice movements. A campaign that Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) holds annually, BMHW is in April (11th-17th) during National Minority Health Month. This year's #BMHW23 theme is “Our Bodies Belong to Us: Restoring Black Autonomy and Joy,” which speaks to our strength, power and resilience, and our unassailable right to live freely, safely, and joyfully.

Our week of events continues with a panel discussion by our Community-Based Doulas on the subject of Black maternal health disparities, followed by screening the critically acclaimed documentary, "Birthing Justice". This event will be hosted at Circle Cinema on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 at 6-8:15 pm. All who attend and sign in will receive one entry in a drawing for a prize package, to be announced on Sunday, April 16th via our socials. Register today!
